Linear Polarization Resistance (LPR)

Linear Polarization Resistance (LPR) probes provide a direct measure of corrosion rate and a qualitative pitting tendency of metals in electrolytes by the technique of linear polarization resistance.  LPR systems have the particular advantage of fast response to changes in corrosive conditions that exist within a system, so that inhibition and process changes designed to limit corrosion damage can be evaluated quickly and easily.

When monitored by “Solution Resistance Compensating” instruments (Aquamate, LPR-200, 9030 Plus) they may be used in low conductivity solutions.

For information on helping you select an LPR Probe for your application see the LPR Probe Selection Guide.
Fixed
Fixed
LPR Probes which are not removable under system pressure are sometimes used for reasons of economy, laboratory applications or special process limitations. These may be mounted with a flange or NPT threaded connection. NPT connections are available with fixed or adjustable length.
Retractable
Retractable
LPR probes are ideal for direct mounting into plant pipework or vessels and allow insertion or removal while under system pressure. The electrode seals are suitable for all pH ranges. These LPR probes employ two replaceable, identical electrodes which are mounted at the end of the probe by ... [more]
Retrievable
Retrievable
Retrievable LPR probes employ two identical electrodes which are mounted at the end of the probe by threaded, insulated, glass-sealed studs. The glass seals provide high pressure integrity. The LPR probe is sealed into the hollow plug of the access fitting with a ceramic filled teflon seal. Two ... [more]

Underground
Corrosion of underground pipelines costs the oil & gas industry millions of dollars each year. Due to more recent safety regulations enforced by the government, pipeline operators are coming under great pressure to provide enhanced protection of pipelines in high-consequence areas, in the form ...
