Cosasco's Nigerian Partner Supports Local Content Growth

With many Capex projects on the horizon in Nigeria, Manz Incorporated is looking to partner up with emerging operators to ensure the best corrosion monitoring technology is provided.

Cosasco’s Nigerian Partner Supports Local Content Growth

Manz Incorporated, a long-term partner of Cosasco, is set to see continued growth in the future due to the huge shift in local content support. Major operators are stepping aside, being replaced and/or shared with local indigenous operators, and because of this new government-driven concept, as many as 40-50 new indigenous operators could rise.

The emerging EPCs within the Nigerian market are looking to capitalize on the vast Capex projects on the horizon that are expected to return home. There is a lot of talent in Nigeria to manage these projects, and Manz is looking to partner up with these emerging operators to ensure the best corrosion monitoring technology is provided for Capex applications.

The aging assets in the Nigerian territories are being handed over, all of which could benefit from internal corrosion monitoring technologies in varying degrees, increasing visibility and the control over rates of corrosion within systems. This will inevitably extend asset life, prevent unplanned maintenance requirements, and ultimately save the new operators significantly on future costly maintenance spending throughout the asset’s lifetime.

About Manz Incorporated

Manz Incorporated has been partnered with Cosasco since 2008, making them one of Cosasco’s longest-serving representatives. A solution-driven team of engineers with a strong network and presence in the Nigerian market, Manz has a strong history of delivering client-driven solutions within the Oil & Gas, Mining, and Chemical/Refinery sectors.

Mandu Ekanem, the President of Manz Incorporated, said of the current market and partnership with Cosasco: “The market is alive with opportunity, and this partnership with Cosasco has evolved over time, delivering training and technical knowledge to Manz personnel and boosting Nigerian local content requirements as a condition of the Nigeria Content Development Board NCDMB. Manz is focused on bringing the Cosasco industry-standard technologies to our long-term core customers.”

Increased Training for Increased Support

Cosasco has been heavily involved in the safety awareness training of Manz’s talented and experienced engineers to support retrieval, maintenance, and commissioning through field service visits. The dedication to training ensures the team is given the knowledge to independently provide the right fit-for-purpose solutions from Cosasco’s wide range of technology offerings.

Andrew Allan, Cosasco’s Regional Manager for Africa Sub-Sahara, says, “Having attended the trade show in Abuja earlier this year, it was abundantly clear that there was a wealth of smart, ambitious, and forward-thinking engineers, all looking for the right technology for their applications. The Nigerian Oil and Gas industry is changing rapidly, and the people of Nigeria are excited about the future. I can’t wait to get back, witness the change, and see some of those friendly, familiar faces again.”
