Wireless Corrosion MonitoringIn an ongoing effort to keep up with the latest technology and advances in product design in corrosion monitoring equipment RCS is releasing the new Cosasco® Wireless product line of wireless corrosion transmitters and devices. The new Microcor® Wireless Corrosion Transmitter (MWT) was the first in the series to be released. In addition, the Quicksand Wireless Corrosion Transmitter, Wireless Extender, and Corrater Wireless Transmitter (CWT) have been released and are available with hazardous area certification. Just like the Wired version of the RCS’s online corrosion monitoring system, the wireless system measures metal loss, corrosion/erosion rate, and pitting tendency using high speed electrical resistance (ER), Linear Polarization Resistance (LPR), and Galvanic functions.
Wireless technology has advanced to levels where data security and accuracy are optimal and trusted in most industries today. Wireless communication has now become the preferred method of data flow due to its limited physical and technical barriers. The process industry has taken a wide leap into the wireless dimension upgrading their control systems with wireless devices for both process and maintenance control. Wireless devices and systems cost less to install and maintain and are just as accurate as their wired counterpart. Wireless is convenient, efficient, and affordable. RCS has taken the next step in internal corrosion monitoring and entered the new wireless frontier. Wireless allows the corrosion monitoring parameter to be directly integrated with process system parameters, economically and easily. Now with the latest wireless technology corrosion monitoring can seamlessly be added in to Emerson’s Smart Wireless network in a matter of minutes.
